WHEN YOU KNOW YOUR HERITAGE...
YOU KNOW HOW GREAT YOU ARE!!!

Sherrod N. Gresham, Jr. graduated from St. Augustine’s College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Social Welfare. He has worked in Human Services for thirty years providing guidance and support to neglected and/or abused youth and families in crisis. In his efforts to instill hope and confidence in his clients, he found that many African American children and adults were not aware of their cultural and American history. Because knowing the positive role our ancestors played in shaping history is one way to be encouraged to make positive contributions ourselves, he has sought to instill that knowledge in others.
Mr. Gresham’s credo is the verse from Hebrews 11:1 “Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Simply put, Faith makes Hope possible. Hope is believing in spite of the evidence and then watching the evidence change.

He has personally found inspiration and hope as a collector of stamps, coins, U.S. Currency and Medals for over twenty seven years. Mr. Gresham realized that he could also reach others by sharing the rich tradition of numismatic (coins) and philatelic (stamps) collecting.
Consequently he created Gresham’s Coins, Stamps and Medals for the purpose of stamping out ignorance through the promotion of multi-cultural education via the use of stamps (philatelic), coins (numismatic), U.S. currency, medals and other multi-cultural materials . He actively participates in both local and national stamp & coin shows as well as cultural and educational presentations in local schools, libraries, churches and civic organizations. His most recent awards include:

2011 Dream of Achievement Senior Award
2011 North Carolina Numismatic Association Bason Literary Award
